Michel Barnier Pipi Savoie

Background and Career

Michel Barnier was born in La Tronche, France in 1951. He studied law and political science before embarking on a career in politics. He has held various ministerial positions in the French government, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Agriculture. He is currently the European Union's chief negotiator for Brexit.

Barnier is a member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP), a center-right political party in France. He is a strong supporter of European integration and has been critical of the UK's decision to leave the EU.
